Stampin’ Friends Blog Hop – Halloween!

Hello Creative Friends,

I am so excited to share my spooky creations with you today!  Halloween is my favorite holiday!!  Participating in this hop has got me super excited because I can’t wait to see all the wonderful, frightful creations! I have made a card and an adorably, spooky coffin treat box!

My first project is this creepy, cute, coffin!  The coffin pack can be ordered from the Holiday catalog. They come already cut and scored and there are 12 in the package. To start my project I used the cute little spider die from the Wicked dies in the holiday catalog. I cut out a spider on the top of the coffin.  I then added some Silver Foil paper to the negative space cut from the coffin on the back side.  I did not want the foil paper to show when the coffin was opened, so I added some the Monster Bash Designer Series Paper on the inside.

Cute right?  I added it to the top and the bottom on the inside of the coffin. Before I folded the coffin, I wanted to add some spider webs to the top.  I used my Versamark pad and randomly stamped spiderwebs from the Wonderfully Wicked stamp set.  I then heat embossed the spiderwebs with Silver Embossing Powder to match the silver foil paper!  Next it was time to fold up the coffin.  I did this using my Tear and Tape to be sure it would stay adhered.  Once I had the coffin finished it was time to decorate it!  I used the Ornate Frames Dies to cut out a ornate frame in Smoky slate.  Then, I used the Basic Black Scalloped Edge Ribbon to wrap around the coffin and the frame. After that I punched out a circle in Basic Black card stock with my 1 1/2 inch circle punch.  I stamped the Open if you dare sentiment from the Spooktacular Bash stamp set in Memento Black ink on Whisper White paper. This was die cut with a different die from the Ornate Frames dies. I then added this onto the ornate frame with dimensionals.  I will be putting some yummy treats inside for someone special!

Now on to the card!

I would consider this card to be a relatively quick and easy project.  I started with a card base of Basic Black card stock cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4. I then cut some of the Monster Bash Designer Series Paper (DSP) to 3 3/4 x 5 inches.  I used my sponge dauber and lightly sponged Memento black ink around the edges.  The next paper layer is Pumpkin Pie card stock cut to 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 inches.  I embossed this with the new Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder. I used my Layering Circle Dies to cut out a scalloped circle in Basic Black cardstock and one of the spooky haunted houses from a different paper from the Monster Bash DSP set. The sentiment is from the Spooktackular Bash stamp set and was cut out using the Ornate Frames Dies.  I added some black ink around the edges with my sponge dauber.  To add my “bow”  I simply folded Basic Black Scalloped Edge Ribbon to look like a bow and then added glue dots to hold it together.  I did this to help lessen the thickness. I used my 1 inch and 3/4 inch circle punches to punch out circles in Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake card stock.  I used the bat from the Every Season Punch Pack to add one more spooky element.

Did my creations give you some ghoulishly cute Halloween ideas?  I hope so, but remember there is more to go! Be sure you head over to the next blog so you can get all your eerie creative ideas in one day!  Just click on the names below to hop on over to the next blog.

Stampin’ Up! Waterfront Thank You Card

Hello Creative Friends!

I am still busy working on cards to share with you that show off some of the great new products in the holiday catalog. In the meantime I figured I would show you a card that showcases one of the awesome sets from the annual catalog. This card was made using the Waterfront stamp set and there is actually a fabulous stamp set in the holiday catalog that would coordinate with it beautifully!

We made this card in my card class recently. One of the best things I found as everyone made this card is there is no right or wrong way!  This stamp set is very forgiving and lets you really become an artist!

To make this card I used Daffodil Delight for the Sun, Pool Party stamped off once for the clouds,  Smoky Slate to stamp the mountains, Crumb Cake to stamp the sand area, a combination of Balmy Blue and Pool Party for the water, a combination of Garden Green and Old Olive for the grassy area and Garden Green for the trees. I wanted less white space in the water area so I used a sponge dauber to add in some Pool Party ink. The Sentiment was stamped in Balmy Blue.  I wanted to keep this card simple so I used simple layers of Smoky Slate and Balmy Blue cardstock. I did also add a little Wink of Stella in the water to make it appear more like waves.

If you like this stamp set then you will also love the new Holiday Catalog stamp set called Snowfront. Here is what it looks like:

Can you see how well these two stamp sets could coordinate?  I sure can!

I hope to have some creations to share with you that showcase the products from the holiday catalog soon!

Stampin’ Up! 2019 Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek – The Raven!

Hello Creative Friends!

We are just 7 days away from the Holiday catalog going live for orders!! I figured it was definitely time for a Sneak Peek into some of the wonderful products in this fabulous catalog! If you have followed me for a while you probably know I am always going to start with Halloween because it is my favorite holiday! Today’s creation showcases the new stamp set called The Raven!

Doesn’t it look Spooky!! This stamp set is perfect to scare up some Halloween wishes for your friends. 👻

I started with a card base in Basic Black cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4. The next layer is Smokey Slate and it was embossed with the new Stylish Scroll Embossing folder. I needed it to look a little more spooky so I used the edge of my scissors to rough up the card stock all around. Next it was time to stamp my raven on Whisper White paper. I did that with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then stamped over the Raven again with my Versamark pad, added clear embossing powder and heat embossed the image. Can you see that my stamping was just a little off center? I actually thought it looked really cool that way so I left it! Of course if you want yours to be exact then the Stamparatus is the way to go. I think the reason this offset look works is because after the image cooled I used my my sponge dauber to lightly add in Smoky Slate ink and some of the new Delicata Metallic Ink in Gold. The sponged on ink will not stick to the embossed area so it makes that look almost like a reverse shadow.

Now it was time to stamp the branch so the Raven would have something to stand on. I used Soft Suede to stamp the branch and then cut out the image with the Stitched Nested Labels and cut off one end. I adhered this to the card and wrapped some of the new Basic Black 3/8 Scalloped Edge Ribbon. I added a bow at the top but I really needed that to look more spooky too. I decided to cut the tails of the bow into lengthwise strips and then fray that a bit. It really works, right?

The sentiment I used is also from The Raven stamp set and I used the same sponging technique on that and then cut it out with the new Ornate Frames Dies. I added a black layer of the same die to give the sentiment dimension. It is hard to tell but I also added a block dot on the Raven’s eye from the new Monster Bash Enamel Shapes embellishment pack.

If you are a Halloween lover then this stamp set is a must have to add to your collection! Come back in 7 days and you can purchase it by clicking here.

Thanks for checking out my blog today.  I hope to have at least one more sneak peak for you before the catalog goes live!

Happy Crafting!

I had to post a quick update to let you know that tomorrow (August 27th) at 10am Mountain time Stampin’ Up! will make the very last shipment of Trimmer Blades available!

I had previously notified you sometime back that they had already provided us a final shipment, but it seems I was incorrect! The last time these were made available they were sold out almost immediately, so if you need some blades for your trimmer be sure to set your alarms for 10am mountain time to head over to my website and put in an order.  The item number for the blades is 126995 and you can add them to your bag by clicking here and entering that number in the search box.  You can also click on the photo above to get to my website.

Stampin’ Up! is limiting the order amount to 3 per person (they come in packs of 2 ).

Don’t miss out on this last chance to get the blades!
