Stampin’ Up! 2015 Occasions Catalog Sneak Peek # 2 – Celebrate Today

Hi there Crafty folks!

I hope you had a fantastic Christmas and are getting to relax and enjoy another day off today. I am so thankful to be off work today and I plan to spend some time being crafty!

I have another sneak peek for you from the upcoming Occasions catalog!  I made this card for my Stepdaughter who will be turning 19 in January. Time sure does fly!  It has beautiful soft colors and the pizzazz of a shaker card!

This card includes use of lots of new items coming up. The pretty washi tape is the from the Sweet Dreams collection and coordinates with the Sweet Dreams DSP I used on the front of the card. I also used the new Balloon framelits to cut out the shaker part of the card. The sentiment is from the new Stamp set called Celebrate today. It has a coordinating balloon stamp that I will be showing in another sneak peek soon. I have never used buttons in a shaker card before, but it worked out pretty well! I also added in some gold sequins but it is hard to see those in the photo. Here is a picture of the inside of the card as well:

The cute banner and the sentiment is part of the Celebrate Today as well!

Okay, I am off to do some crafty things!

Masculine card that works for Teens!

Happy Sunday!

The Christmas season is definitely keeping me busy so I have not had much time to create or post things here lately. I am hoping to get much more done between the holidays, as I do have a little time off.  I did have time to fit in a quick birthday card for my nephew. He is a December baby so I could not forget about him!  I needed some inspiration for this one and I found it it on pinterest!  Here is my card:

and here is the card I CASED:

Epic Alphabet from stampin up made by Michelle Last

I am so glad a fellow demonstrator from the UK shared her creation, because I just love it! If you want to know more about how she created her card, just click on the picture to go to her site. I wanted to make mine just a little different, so I changed the sentiment slightly. I also used green and white rather than black/gray and white. I really love this new alphabet set Stampin’ Up sells. I have already used it in a few of my scrapbook pages and I anticipate using it much more.

This is a really simple card to make so if you need a teen card, give it a try!

Goody boxes and weekly deals!

Happy Tuesday!

I am certainly getting into the Christmas spirit these days! I have been sending out cards, wrapping gifts, listening to the Christmas Music and just plain enjoying the season.  It has been a bit warmer than what is typical here in the Chicago suburbs, and I love it. I know many folks would wish for snow but I am actually quite happy when it stays away.

As I was wrapping gifts for many people I made sure to include some very special folks that helped me out this year, my physical therapists and their assistants.  I had back surgery at the end of the summer and I have been in PT for months.  My very last session was Monday. I feel like a new person and I am so happy they all helped me out.  To show them my gratitude, I baked them cookies and decorated the boxes with green and red and shiny ribbons.  They all seemed very happy with the gift. Isn’t it wonderful to watch others enjoy the creations we give them?

I made many different versions of this goody box so here are a few of them:

3c2aee0e-fb6a-4a85-81f2-c2d3dab8bac7_zps2b8d19de 9f1acd35-bd8a-4b30-af8e-2f1e64165ee5_zpsf2b2d7f7 a24f4f89-2cc7-4293-8202-fd45f9b5310b_zps98185af8

Cute, right? I embossed the plastic covers to give each box its own flair. I have so many embossing folders I used a different one for each box and I tried to match up the patterns when I could. If you want to try this just be sure to emboss the cover half way up on one side then turn it around to do the bottom. You will need to make a belly band to cover up where the two patterns meet, but that is a piece of cake!

So I hope I have given you some fun ideas for decorating your goody boxes. Are you giving lots of yummy goodies to friends and family this year?

I could not forget to also tell you about the weekly deals that started today. Here they are:

Fun money holder card book

Hi There!

I am trying to pull all my Christmas gifts together and wrap up all the Christmas cards.  I have a couple of folks that I plan to give money this year and I am always trying to find new ways to make the money gift a little more exciting.  I also needed something that sends easily because I don’t want to do anything too heavy and pay lots of extra shipping.  So I did a search and found an easy little “money book” that you could whip up in 15 min.

This little card holds the money much like a money clip would, only I used the string to hold in the money. I have only one dollar showing, but I plan to add much more so it appears more like a book. I have it held open for the photo, but the right side has holes punched so I can thread the string through and close up the “book”. This is only slightly large than the money measuring at 3 1/8 inches tall and a total length of 7 inches scored at 3 1/2 inches. Gold layer is 2 inches in length scored at 1 inch.

I hope the recipient finds it to be a little more fun than just receiving a card. If you need to give someone some money and want to pump up the packaging, give this a try!

Happy Friday everyone!
