Hello Crafty Friends!
I hope you are having a fantastic memorial weekend and remember to say thanks for those that have served to help our country.
I have a card to share that was made with almost entirely retiring products. I wanted to just play with some of my favorite things before they are gone. It has also been a big weekend for graduates around here so it seems appropriate that it is a graduation card!
This card was made for an avid soccer player and I made sure to use his school colors! I hope he likes it. He is heading off to college and will continue enjoying soccer while on a scholarship! To make this I used the Hexagon Hive thinlit that will no longer be available in just two days (unless they have some leftover supply). I cut out a circle in Basic Black cardstock and then used the Hexagon Hive thinlit to cut out Whisper White. Then I pieced things together to look like a soccer ball. The stars were stamped using the Something To Say stamp set in Night of Navy. The ribbon in the background is the 3/8 inch stitched satin ribbon. We will still have this ribbon available, but not in these colors. I made the banner by use the Hexagon punch which is also retiring. Lastly I added white candy dots to all the starts to give it some extra pow. If any of these items look like something you want, go check out my website right away to see if you can still get them!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day!
Hello Crafty Friends!
Today I HAD to share a birthday card because today is my birthday!! I believe it is fair to say I am smack dab in the center of middle age as I turned 45 today. Whew. Where did all that time go??? Well I am feeling pretty fortunate to have great friends, great family members and all my needs met, so I will celebrate all of those things today! I might also just close the door to my craft room and make sure I fit it some more craft time….. ;-).
Now let’s move on to the fun sneak peek I have for you. This card showcases almost entirely new catalog goodies!
Such a fun stamp set! All the stamped images you see are part of this new stamp set called Confetti Celebration. Also, all the colors used are some of the new In Colors coming out soon. I used Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy and Sweet Sugarplum. Looking at these colors just makes me feel festive! The pretty ruched ribbon is shown in Sweet Sugarplum and is available in all five In colors. It won’t be long and you will be able to order the products in the new catalog. I can’t wait!
I am off to see what else I can create since I took the day off from work today. Happy Monday to you!
Hello Crafty Friends!
I am super excited to share my first sneak peek from the upcoming annual catalog! I love that being a demonstrator allows us to get products just a little early so we have time to show you the wonderful new items that are coming soon. The new Stampin’ Up! annual catalog comes out June 1, 2016. That is just around the corner! So let’s move on to the cute card I made with nearly all new products!
Isn’t this card cute? Those adorable flowers, leaves and the stems are all part of the new Swirly Bird Stamp Set and Swirly Scribbles Thinlit dies. The cool thing is that these don’t have to be used as flowers or stems, they are all very abstract so you can get super creative with your ideas. In fact, the die I used as stems may not look like stems at all to you if you see the whole thing! Additional fun new items showcased here include the beautiful colors on this card. To stamp the flowers I used two of the new In Colors, Sweet Sugarplum and Flirty Flamingo. That sentiment is from another new stamp set called Layering Love and it has some of the nicest sayings. I used the Flirty Flamingo to stamp my sentiment as well. It is also the color of the adorable new Ruched Ribbon which is available in all 5 of the new In colors. Their are a few current catalog items on this card as well, such as the Old Olive cardstock, the Crumb Cake cardstock and, of course, Whisper White cardstock.
I am not able to show you any inside pages from the new catalog yet, but we are able to share the cover page and maybe you can see a few of the new fantastic items to come by looking at that. Here it is:
You can see lots of the new In colors!!
If you can already tell you are going to fall in love with this new catalog, but don’t have a SU Demonstrator yet, please let me know and I will be happy to send you one to you as soon as they are available.
I plan to try and share some more sneak peeks as soon as I can so be sure to check back soon!
*Not all new catalog items will be listed below
Hello crafty friends!
I am finally back to share something with you! Let me start by saying Happy Mother’s day to all the mothers out there! I am lucky enough to still have my mom in my life and that makes me smile. Hopefully all the mothers out there are are finding time to do what they love!
Today’s card I am going to share it not a Mother’s Day card. I figured it made more sense to share something that is coming up right around the corner. Graduation! We have one of those coming up at our house as the middle child finishes high school at the end of the month. Most of the time people give money or gift cards to a graduate so I figured that is just what this card needed to be!
This was a super quick card to make and although it is simple, the silver helps to give it just a little bit of glam for a special occasion like graduating. Here is what the inside looks like:
First, I must give some credit to Liz Miller over at Stampin With Liz because I totally CASEd this card from her. Though her colors and stamps are different, I used her dimensions and inspiration. Check out her card here: http://stampinwithliz.com/?p=7237 Thanks Liz!
To make this card I used the Celebrate Today stamp set for the outside and the Perfect Pairings Sale-A-Bration set for my inside sentiment. I decided to use Bermuda Bay mostly because I liked the way it looked with the Shine On patterned paper. I probably should have used school colors, but, if I am being honest, it would not have looked good with the shine on paper and I REALLY wanted to use that! 😉 To make the card I cut the Bermuda Bay into 7 3/4 x 5. I also cut a strip of Bermuda Bay at 7 3/4 X 1 for the belly band. The larger Bermuda Bay cardstock was then scored at 2 1/2 inches and 6 inches. For the Shine On DSP I cut it in two pieces. One at 2- 1/4 x 4-3/4 and the other at 1-1/2 x 4-3/4. The inside white layer was cut at 2-1/4 x 4-3/4. I chose to use my Oval Framlits for the front and made sure to add in the Silver Foil paper to bring out the silver in paper. I used my Star Framelits and the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack to finish things off and then added one pretty Rhinestone. The sides of the paper on the inside were adhered using the Tape N Tear strip so it would stay nice and tight. That is it! It was quick and easy so if you need a gift card holder, give it a try!
I hope your weekend was wonderful and filled with crafty inspiration!
