Hello Crafty friends!
I have been visiting my brother in California and really haven’t had much time to post. Before I left I was inspired by the thought of sitting by the ocean and I came up with this fun summer card!
This sure makes me think of a wonderful summer day!
To make this card I used the Colorful Seasons Stamp set and the Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies. This bundle is really a good one to have because you can make something for all four seasons! As I looked at my supplies I noticed the die that cuts out a Adirondack chair made me think of those fences you often see on the beaches. So I started with Sahara Sand cardstock and then used Sahara Sand ink to stamp a an image with the Woodgrain background stamp (this is retired but you can use the new Tree Rings Stamp set in its place!). Then I used the Adirondack chair die to cut out the “fence” To make it look like a fence I cut off the seat and the arms of the chair. That’s all there is to it! To make the sand I ripped pieces of Crumb cake paper. Then I used my Wink of Stella to make it look more like sand. The background is a white paper that I colored in lightly with Soft Sky using a sponge dauber. I stamped the chair in black in over the sand and the sky. It did not stamp perfectly so I colored in the missing black with my marker. The sun was cut out with a circle punch from the new Color Theory DSP. The cute little drink was stamped in daffodil delight and I used a framelit from the Seasonal Layers thinlit dies to cut it out. I finished it off by layering it on Real Red paper. The sentiment is also from the Colorful Seasons Stamp set.
I hope this gives a some great ideas with this versatile new stamp set!
