Hi there Crafty Friends,
My next Christmas card to share with you was really fun to create. I was trying to match many of the beautiful decorations I see in local shops near me. The rustic or farmhouse look is so on trend right now. I think this card fits right in with the this look.
I love the color combo of this card. The deep Cherry Cobbler mixed with the snow frost color from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper meshes so well with the Wood Textures DSP.
To make this I stamped the reindeer stamp from the Merry Patterns onto Very Vanilla Card stock in Cherry Cobbler. I cut out the portion of the deer I wanted with a 2 inch Circle Punch. I then used the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits to cut out the bigger swirl in Cherry Cobbler card stock. Next, I used the Pretty Pines Thinlits to cut out branches in Garden Green and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper. I set those items aside and then grabbed my Wood Textures DSP and chose the wood background I preferred. I stamped the Tis’ the Season stamp from the Merry Patterns in Versamark and then heat embossed it in White. Once that cooled I used the decorative Season stamp from the set and stamped over the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler. I then filled in the letters with Clear Wink of Stella. I was now ready to assemble my focal point of the card. I did so by layering together the branches until I liked the way that looked. I adhered the Swirly die cut to the paper and then layered the leaves on top. Next, I added a short piece of Burlap Ribbon and then put the Reindeer cut out on top of all of it with some dimensionals. I finished things off with a pretty bow using the 1/8 inch ribbon in Real Red. The last touch was just a few pearls here and there. The background of the card is Cherry Cobbler card stock. Even though the ribbon is Real Red and the color used elsewhere in the card is Cherry Cobbler, it still comes together perfectly.
This was a very fun card to make and I hope it gives you some inspiration.
