Stampin’ Up! 2018-2019 Annual Catalog Sneak Peek!!

Hi Crafty Friends!

Are you ready for a sneak peek of goodies from the new catalog?  You are?  Good! I have one for you!  There is so much to be excited about in this new catalog since we have a new color revamp, new in-colors and of course lots of new stamp sets and other goodies!  So check out my first creation using some of the new In-Colors and a new Stamp set that will be available to you as of June 1st!

I used three new In-Colors to make this card. They are: Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover and Pineapple Punch.  They are some perfect colors for summer! The stamp set I used is called Big Wishes and it has this and three other fun stamps that will be great for the birthdays you have coming up.  The pretty DSP I used is the new In-Color DSP. They now offer this in the 6×6 size so it is a bit easier to store! The fun fold I make allows the card to sit upright so it could be displayed on a desk.  It opens in the back and there is room to write on the card there. To make this fold I started with a half sheet of cardstock and scored it in landscape position at 1-1/2”, 2-3/4”, 5-3/4” and
7” I want to be sure and mention I got this measurements and some inspiration for this card from Linda Heller with Stamping School.  Check out her webpage if you haven’t already! To make the two-toned appearance on this stamp set I used one of the most exciting new products, The Stamparatus! This is a super awesome stamping tool that helps you get your images stamped perfectly.  Using this tool I was able to re-stamp the image multiple times to ensure my colors were nice and bright.  I also was able to leave the stamp in place and add the two colors separately. You can’t even tell I did which really makes this tool awesome!  To really see how the Stamparatus works check out this video for an introduction:

You can see all 4 of the videos in this series if you check out the Stampin’ Up! you tube channel and search for Stamparatus.

I hope you have enjoyed this sneak peek of the new catalog items. It is only a week away and you will be able to shop for all the goodies in the catalog!

Hello Crafty Friends,

In honor of this Mother’s day I am sharing the card I made for my mom!  I couldn’t share it earlier because she keeps up with my blog and I wanted it to be a surprise!

The Apron of Love is the perfect set for mom’s but also for anyone who loves to cook, bake or grill!  The stamp set comes with the cutest stamps to make the apron just right for people who love to create with food.  It gets even cuter when you add in the matching Apron Builder Framlelits! The pretty paper I used is part of the Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP that will only be available for a few more weeks!

I hope you enjoyed the card and most of all I hope you are getting to be crafty today!

It’s Graduation Time – Do you have your card ready?

Hi Crafty Friends,

Who else besides me has a bunch of graduations coming up?  I sure do!!  I think I figured out I have 5 family members graduating in the next month, whew! I got to work looking through my supplies to see what graduation idea I could come up with and realized I didn’t have much that specifically said graduation or graduate.  Not to worry, there are many sentiments that will work and here is one I came up with:

When I looked at the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set it seemed like the Cue the Confetti sentiment would be perfect for a graduation card.  I added the appearance of confetti by using the stamp that looks like confetti in that same stamp set.  I chose the colors of Basic Gray Silver Foil, Whisper White and Pool Party because I am not sure who will receive this card.  I thought these colors could really go to anyone.  I used the Scattered Sequins Dynamic Texture Impressions Embossing Folder.  You might notice the small line in the top corner of the card.  Since completing this card I learned a good trick to use when something like this happens.  First, it is a good idea to lightly spritz your paper with water before running in through the big shot. This will help it keep the impression crisp. But if you are still getting a line where you don’t want it or possibly cutting the paper rather than embossing you can also try adding a piece of vellum over the top of your paper.  Hopefully this will help! I also spritzed the card with a light pool party color and added in some rhinestones.  I wanted all these little additions to make it truly seem like I was ready with the confetti!

I hope this gives you some new ideas of what to come up with when making your next graduation card.

Happy Crafting!

There is something for every kind of crafter and you can get the new In-Colors early too!!

In honor of the new items being available I made a little something to show them off:

Here is a close up of the box:

See all that pretty paper used on the cards?  It really is super pretty in person.  I used a small amount of it to decorate the mini pizza box too!  The mini pizza box is a great idea for a graduation present as it holds gift cards or money just perfectly! These small 3×3 cards were very easy to create and the Share What You Love paper does all the work.  You can see I used various ribbons but be sure to check out the pretty Rich Razzleberry Velvet ribbon used on the mini pizza box and one of the cards.  It is very soft and is a wonderful new addition to our ribbon selection! The doily used on the box is pearlized. I wish it showed up better in the photo! I plan on making many more lovely items with this suite.  I am sure you will love it too so add it to your craft suppllies today!  You can get to shopping by clicking here.

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!
