I have been lucky enough to get to spend the day in my craft room. I LOVE when I get to do that! I tend to save working on scrapbook pages for days like today. Since I had the time I decided to seek out inspiration and I found I loved the Sketch Challenge over at Scrap Our Stash. I am just barely making it to enter my page so I better get to it!
Here is the sketch I had to follow:
Pretty close, right? I have just started getting scrapbook kits from The Hip Kit Club so all my supplies are from the March 2015 kit. You can check it out here. I have to admit, it is really nice getting a kit filled with paper and embellishments that coordinate, but are necessarily matchy-matchy.
I was also able to work on some cards today so I will be sure to share those later this week.
Happy Hump day!
Boy did I have a rough day at work! I am so glad it is over. Now I am ready to see if I can find my creative side this evening. I did have some time to work on some scrapbook pages the other day and I decided to follow the Challenge over at Scrap Challenge Yourself. The current theme is to use bright colors and ” I Am” in the title or journaling. When I saw the theme I knew exactly which photo I would be scrapping….. a crazy, silly photo of Me! I am in the midst of scrapping my high school years photos so they won’t get ruined sitting in boxes or in those old, terrible plastic sheet covered albums that stick to the photos. It is absolutely hilarious what I have found in going through photos from 25 years ago. So without further delay, here is my page:
There is no picture I have that better describes who I was back then. I was a silly, silly girl. Actually, I still am. 🙂 I have been trying to make my scrapbook pages look a bit more “80’s” like when doing these photos. But, with this one, I just went with the color theme and decided to incorporate stars and arrows. The majority of the items on this page are from Stampin’ Up. The only non Stampin’ Up products are the chipboard letters, foam word and the background page. Some of the pieces are from the project life line. The silver stars and sequins are from a past paper pumpkin kit I received. You really can pull from your crafting stash that isn’t always meant for scrapbooking and turn it into a fantastic page!
Do you have leftover card making supplies you don’t know what to do with? Do you have pictures that need to get organized? If so, see what kind of beautiful page you can create. You just might be surprised at how good it can look!
I must not forget to post about the weekly deals so here they are:
These are good through March 2, 2015. If you need some ribbon looks like a good time to get it!
Hope you are having a good week!
I am finally getting around to posting some of the scrapbook pages I created while at my Halloween Themed Retreat two weekends ago. I did not get anywhere near the number of pages completed that I hoped to, but I had a fantastic time visiting with friends I rarely get to see. Most of the items I used were not from Stampin’ Up, but I do have a few examples of pages where I did use some Stampin’ up items and here they are:
Both of these pages used some of the Stampin’ Up Lullaby DSP and Kraft cardstock. It is really nice to have coordinating papers to be able to mix things up on the pages and know they will go together effortlessly. I also used the work of art stamp set and the hexagon punch on these pages. This is a good example of how you can make your stamp supplies turn into scrapbook supplies with very little effort!
I am currently trying to scrap all my 80’s photos. This one is from a fun visit with a friend in her first year of college in 1989. Hope you enjoyed a peek at some of my scrapbook pages. Now I am off to do more creating!
I had a rough week with my back pain and could not even think about crafting anything. BUT, I finally felt somewhat better today and thank goodness I did because it is National Scrapbooking Day!! There are so many giveaways and challenges out there I can barely keep up. I was going to try to do all sorts of challenges but I ended up only having the energy and tolerance to make two scrapbook pages. I honestly think that is not too bad considering how I felt. So here are the final pages:
I don’t really have the best lighting for taking pictures of my pages at night, but oh well. There is lots of copper gold in these two pages. I found this fantastic paper over at www.craftysteals.com for a great price. It is by Pink Paislee and the pack is called Luxe. Lots of beautfiul, striking metallic accent papers that are great for adding some zing to my wedding album. I only have about 5-6 pages left and my wedding album will be complete….. only took me nearly two years!
Hope everyone is having a great National Scrapbooking Day!
