Hello Creative Friends!
Today I am getting ready to head to sunny Orlando, Florida for the awesome Stampin’ Up! Convention!! It is now referred to as OnStage and I am hoping I will have lots of new goodies to share with you while I am there!! Before I go, I wanted to share a quick and easy fall/masculine card with you. I used the Rooted in Nature stamp set and showcased many of the gorgeous green colors we have available.
I am calling this a masculine card, but really I think it could be given to anyone. I also don’t think it is only a fall card either! It could easily be made more fall looking by changing up the colors. The card base color is Mossy Meadow. I layered the this with some paper from the Wood Textures 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper pack. I then chose to stamp various leaves from the Rooted in Nature stamp set in the following colors: Mossy Meadow, Garden Green, Old Olive, Shaded Spruce and Granny Apple Green. When I saw how many beautiful green colors we have available I knew I wanted to show them off together! I cut out each leaf image with a circle that I though fit best from my Layering Circles Framelit Dies and some of my circle punches. I also cut a corresponding card stock color to the ink I used with the next biggest circles. I then layered them out in a group on the card. I added some Linen Thread twine behind all the circles and adhered them with dimensionals. The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and was punch out with the classic label punch. I also cut out a Meadow Layer using the classic label punch. I cut it in half so I could add a layer to each end of the point. This makes it look like it has a full layer!
That is all there is to this card! You could make this one really quick of you need a card in a hurry.
Please check back here soon for updates regarding some of the goodies I get to see at Onstage. I would recommend checking on my Facebook and Instagram pages for the most up to date information as I won’t always be able to post things to the blog.
Hello my creative friends!
Today I must share some awesome news with you! Stampin’ Up! is offering a beautiful suite available to you for only one month! It is the Snowflake Showcase and is truly some of the best snowflake designs I have ever seen! Let me start by sharing the card I made with these great new items!
Isn’t this pretty!?!? Check out all the wonderful items that are part of the Snowflake Showcase below:
There are two beautiful stamp sets to choose from and both of them coordinate with the dies. The first stamp set is called Happiness Surrounds. Here is what it looks like:
If you want to order this one the item number is 149744 and the cost of the stamp set cost is $17.00. It is a photopolymer set.
The other stamp set is called Snow is Glistening. Here is what that one looks like:
The item number for this one is 149742. The cost of the set is $21.00 and is a photopolymer set.
The other wonderful items in the showcase are the beautiful Snowfall Thinlits – item number 149692 (cost is $39.00), The Snowflake Trinkets – item number 149620 (cost is $8.00) and the White Velveteen paper (yes it is really velvet!) – item number 149619 (cost is $5.00)
So lets talk about how I made the card!!
I started with the pretty Shimmery White Card stock as my card base. This was cut at 11 x 4 1/4. The DSP I used is part of the All is Bright Designer Series paper. It looked like such a soothing background to go with snowflakes! I cut the DSP at 3 3/4 x 5 so some of the white shimmer paper would show on the edge around the DSP. I then used this rich velveteen paper to cut out the snowflakes with the Snowfall Thinlits. It is so awesome to add that additional texture to the card! I guarantee individual’s who receive a card with this paper on it will love the added touch on the card. I then used a sentiment from the Snow is Glistening set and Versamark ink to stamp the sentiment. This was heat embossed with Silver Embossing powder and layered with a Silver Foil paper. I used the Silver 3/8 inch Metallic Edge ribbon and added the string of snowflakes so it appears to wrap around the ribbon a bit. I finished things off with the gorgeous Snowflake trinkets and some rhinestones.
I can’t wait to make many more beautiful cards with this suite!! Remember this is a TIME LIMITED stamp set and will no longer be available after November 30th. I recommend you grab it now in case they sell out! Click on the brochure below to order the products from my online shop!
If you need any help ordering, just let me know. I will be happy to help!
Come back soon for my fun items I will be sharing.
The big day is here so of course I have to share one last Halloween card for the season. I have once again used the Trick or Tweet stamp set (because it has so many cute stamps!).
I created this card for my best friend. She loves Elephants and she loves Halloween just as much as me. After 37 years of friendship I am still batty for her so it is the perfect card to give her!
I made this card using a 4 1/4 x 11 inch Basic Black card base. I then cut the bat paper from the Toil & Trouble DSP to 3 3/4 x 5 inches. I also cut another layer of Smoky Slate paper to put behind the bat paper.I thought should help to make the DSP pop on the card. This layer is just 1/8 inch larger around than the DSP. I stamped my cute elephant using Black Memento ink and then used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut him out. I added a Basic Black layer with the same framelits. I used my Light Basic Black and Light Smoky Slate Blends markers to color in the elephant. I stamped the Batty for You Sentiment in memento ink and used my Classic Label punch to punch it out. I didn’t want the sentiment to blend into the paper so I cut out circles with my Layering Circles Framelits. I even used the Subtle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to add some texture to the circle behind the sentiment. To finish things off I added a bow using the 3/8 Inch Glittered Organdy Ribbon and some Black Metallic Sequins.
I hope you are getting to enjoy this spooky Halloween and get to see many cute little kids enjoying their trick or treating. I don’t have many trick or treater’s come to my house, so I will likely be enjoying a spooky movie with my husband this evening.
Come back soon as I will be busy making many more Christmas Cards now that it is time to move on to the next holiday!
Hi there creative friends!
I have another Halloween card to share today. I am using the Trick or Tweet stamp once more, but also the super, awesome Buffalo Check stamp. If you don’t have this one yet, you will want to get it!
This card features one of my favorite things in life, a cat! The cute cat dressed as a mummy was one of the biggest reasons I had to have this set. 😉 To make this card I started with a Basic Black card base cut to size 4 1/4 x 11 inches. I then used my Buffalo Check Background Stamp with Pumpkin Pie ink and stamped the image on Whisper White Cardstock cut to 4 x 5 1/4 inches. I also used Whisper White to stamp my cat image and the sentiment. This was cut out using the Layering Circle Framelits, including the scalloped background in Basic Black. I colored in the cat using the Smoky Slate and Pumpkin Pie Blends Markers. I used the 1/2 inch Black Satin Ribbon from the Annual catalog and added the little Spider Trinket with some of the 1/8 inch Black Cord. The Black Satin Ribbon has a little shimmer to it! I finished things off with some of the Black Faceted Dots in the annual catalog.
Have you sent out any Halloween cards? Mine have all been sent but I still have one more creation to share with you. Come back on the big day (Halloween) to see my last spooky card this year!
Hi there creative friends!
I am not quite finished with my Halloween cards yet so I have more to share with you! The Stampin’ Up! Trick or Tweet stamp set is one of the cutest sets!! This would be an especially good set to have so you can create with your kids.
This card is full of so many fun goodies from the holiday catalog! I started with Basic Black card stock for my card base. I then chose to use some of the pretty Toil and Trouble DSP that has the Gorgeous Grape color in it. I decided to add it to a layer of Gorgeous Grape Card stock so it would pop nicely. The stamp images are all from the Trick or Tweet stamp set. The cute little puppy was colored in using the Light Highland Heather Blends marker, the Light Crumb Cake Blends Marker, the Ivory Blends Marker (for the nose), and the Light Basic Black Blends Marker. I cut out the bats with my handy Spooky Bats punch. I cut out the colored puppy using my Stitched Shapes Framelit dies and my Layering Oval dies. I cut out the sentiment using the Tailored Tag punch. I also used my Sponge Dauber to color the edges of the punched sentiment with Black Memento ink. I used the Tailored Tag punch with Basic Black card stock to make an offset layer for the sentiment. I then added some of the pretty 1/2 inch Black Satin Ribbon behind the image and finished it off by adding some of the spooky Spider Trinkets tied on with the Whisper White Solid Baker’s twine.
This stamp set has many funny sentiments and I will have a few more samples to share in the coming week.
Are you getting all your spooky cards and treats ready Halloween?
