It is a special Monday here at my house because today is my 2 year wedding anniversary!! I am so happy with my wonderful husband. This is a second marriage for me and it feels so great to know I found my happy ending. Here are some happy photo memories from that day:
Let me be the first to tell you to never give up on love because it can come later in life just the same as when you are young!
Of course I needed a pretty card to give to my husband on this special day so I pulled one together with rich luxurious colors!
The sentiment on this card is perfect because Rodney really is my Happily Ever After! The gold and Blackberry Bliss are such a beautiful combination too! I truly hope he loves this card! We will be enjoying a nice dinner out together this evening and I am looking forward to it already.
I am one of those people who has a pretty decent amount of Washi tape and yet I consistently forget to use it! So when I saw the current Challenge Theme (#253) over at Just Us Girls is Washi Tape I was in! I needed to make a birthday card so I decided that would be my theme.
Fun colors, right? This card has all kinds of things going on! but I feel like it all pulled together well. The washi tape was used in the each corner of the white cardstock. I wanted this card to have a camera theme so I love using that film framelit die and camera framelit die to achieve that appearance. One interesting thing about this card is the gold arrow and camera. Those were stamped using the Stampin’ Dazzle Gold Marker Stampin’ Up sells rather than the matching ink color used in the paper (Baked Brown Sugar) Because I don’t have the ink! I thought it looked pretty close and it stamped well so I am glad it worked!
I have to mention that I must be in love with the Stampin’ Up! Linen thread….. I have used in the last 5 or 6 projects I have made and also keep doing the loops of the thread rather than tying it. I try other things, but this linen thread keeps looking the best so I will just keep using it! I think it is safe to say I would recommend getting some of the Linen Thread!
Hope you like the card and make this your reminder to go use your washi tape!! 🙂

I am extra excited today because I received my first shipment (but not my last!) of the new Stampin Up! Holiday Catalog goodies I ordered!! As Demonstrator we can order items a little earlier so we can come up with lots of inspiration for our customers. I will be diligently working (ha ha, make that playing!) With lots of the new stamps sets and other goodies in the catalog so I can share ideas with you! You will be able to order these wonderful items as of August 28th. You can get the catalog a little earlier than that if you want it, Just let me know and I will be happy to send you one! Okay, on to the goodies!
Cuteness! I am one of those oddball people who loves Halloween even more than Christmas so I am pretty sure I am going to end up with every Halloween set Stampin’ Up offers in the new Catalog! For this card the newest item used is the Fall Fest Stamp set and it includes these adorable Jack-O-Lanterns. Though I did not use it on this card, this stamp set has a matching Framelit die set that would allow you to cut out the Jack-O-Lanterns and have adorable popped up details to your cards or even scrapbook pages! The bats are from another fun new set in the catalog that actually coordinates with the Project Life line. It is called Holiday Cheer and has many cute little stamps that could easily be used in Project Life Scrapbooking. But, as you can see here, they are great for cards too!! One more sneak peek on this card is the sentiment. It is from a new hostess set that will be coming out soon called Good Greetings. I will keep you posted when I know the date of when that when is available because it is a really good one! One more fun thing about this card is the background paper. That is not a designer series paper, but I think it looks like one! I simply used the Work Of Art Stamp set (which IS currently available in the regular catalog!) and stamped those dots and then I sponged black ink lightly across the card and on the sides. I think it really makes the card pop! I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the new goodies and if you need any of these products then please contact me at 847-854-7934 or simply go to my website to shop at http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/thescraptree/. One last thing, over at Stamplorations their August Challenge is to use Stamps and Die cuts. Since I did both I am submitting this card for that challenge! Hopefully they won’t think it is too early for Halloween!
Be sure to come back tomorrow as I will have a Christmas Goody sneak peek from the Holiday catalog!!!

I will admit, making tags is not something I seem to have great skill in completing. It is funny really because how hard can it be to make a tag, right? But for some reason I just stare at my paper wondering what in the world I will come up with… except this time! For some reason I had an idea pop into my head the minute I saw the July Tags Challenge theme at Catherine & Cathy Create! I just grabbed a piece of scrap paper nearby and went with it. That is probably how I need to think about it from now on. You can’t force creativity! With that said, here is my creation:
A simple tag ready to be attached to a yummy treat or small gift.
Now I am off to see what else I can create….well after I get done with my workday anyway. 🙂
