It has been quite some time since I have posted any information or shared any creations for you. I am afraid the reason for my hiatus is a bit sad. I received some unfortunate news and had to drive to my parents house (they are quite far from me). My dad had been taken to the ER and was not acting right. After many tests they determined he had a large brain tumor. The appearance of the tumor suggested it was a very aggressive form of cancer. My family was informed surgery was needed, but they would never be able to get it all. My dad is 80 years old so there were many risks with this surgery for various reasons. I am happy to report he did have the surgery and his recovery thus far has been much better than expected. He is walking with assistance and showing almost no cognitive issues at all. We really couldn’t ask for a better outcome! However, they are still evaluating this tumor to see what grade the cancer is and how it can be treated. At this point I am just happy to have him around a little longer. As you can imagine, I didn’t think much about my stamping during this time. Now that I can breath a short sigh of relief I thought it was time to share something creative!
In the wake of all that has happened, I am beyond thankful. Thankful for the doctors steady hand, thankful for the unbelievable amount of prayers my family received, and I am especially thankful my dad is still here with me. So what better card to share than a Thank you card, right?
This card was made using both a watercolor technique and the wonderful blends markers! I started with a card base in Pool Party cut at 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 inches and scored at 4 1/4 inches. I then cut a piece of Thick Whisper White to 5 1/4 x 4 inches. The Thick Whisper White card stock will work for some water coloring and is a more of a bright white color than the watercolor card stock. I stamped the flower image from the Humming Along stamp set using Memento Black ink. This is the best to use for coloring with the blends. To color in the flower I started with the Light Flirty Flamingo blends marker. Then I used the Dark Flirty Flamingo blends marker to give the inside of the flower a darker town. I blended the colors together using the Light Flirty Flamingo blends marker once more. For the stem of the flower I used the Light Granny Apple Green blends marker. I then used the Dark Granny Apple Green blends marker to add some dimension to the stem. I used the Dark Daffodil Delight blends marker to the stamen of the flower.
I wanted to give the flower a bit of a halo look so I used my Aqua painter and some Pool Party ink to lightly watercolor around the flower. I am happy with the results, but I think this look may be an acquired taste. You can’t really see it in this photo but I also added some Clear Wink of Stella to the watercolor part of the ink. You might see a slightly darker area here or there where I got a little heavy handed with the Wink of Stella…thankfully it looks good in person!! 😉
I stamped the Thank You sentiment from the same stamp set in the Memento Ink and then cut it out with the Stitched Rectangle Framelits. I added some of the Flirty Flamingo ribbon from the All My Love Ribbon Pack to the card and tied a knot in the ribbon. I popped up the sentiment with dimensionals and finished off the card by adding a few pearls from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls pack.
I hope I can come back to share something again with you soon. Don’t forget, you only have 6 days left before Sale-A-Bration ends! If you want something free then now is the time to order!!

With the new Call Me Cupcake Framelits I was able to cut out the images from the Hello Cupcake stamp set with ease! You can get these coordinating items from now until March 31st so don’t wait because they could go fast! Here is a brochure highlight all the coordinating items available:
To make the card I started with a Powder Pink card base cut to 4 1/4 X 11 inches and scored at 5 1/2 inches. I cut a piece of Melon Mambo to 3 5/8 X 4 7/8 and a piece of Whisper White to 3 1/2 X 4 3/4. I then used the sprinkle stamp from the stamp set with Powder Pink ink to stamp all over the Whisper White card stock and make my own designer series paper. Next, I used Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo and Powder Pink inks to stamp the cupcake icing. They were cut out with the Call Me Cupcake Framelits. I used Gray Granite to stamp the Cupcake holder. I used Melon Mambo to stamp the two sentiments on Whisper White card stock. I used the Triple Banner Punch to cut the sentiment into banners. To make the cupcake stand I first cut out the base of the stand by using Smoky Slate paper and adding a thick layer of Clear Wink of Stella over it. Then I used Window Sheets to stamp the cupcake stand cover. I wanted to be able to stick this down on my paper without it showing so I used the same framelit to cut out just the knob part with Smoky Slate paper. I then add Wink of Stella to that so it would match the base. I put the cupcake holder and cupcake together with a mix of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and glue dots to adhere it to my stamped, Whisper White paper. I then added a pretty bow using the Flirty Flamingo ribbon from the All My Love ribbon pack and finished things off with Pearls from the Share What You Love Artisan pearls pack.

I am back to share a fun Masculine card that I made for my Husband’s birthday back in January. He is a car guy, so the Geared Up Stamp Set and the Garage Gears Thinlits was the perfect set use for his card!
I started this card by stamping the car image in Basic Gray. I then used Smoky Slate Blends markers to color in the car. I used the Garage Gears Thinlits to cut out the car. I grabbed some of the Classic Garage Designer Series paper to cut what looks a bit like a blacktop road. This paper was also used for the red background. I then took my 1 inch circle punch and my 1 1/4 inch circle punch and cut out many different wheels from another sheet of the Classic Garage DSP. I randomly added the wheels to the red background. I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White paper and used my Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut it out. I then added the Black/Silver Striped Metallic Ribbon and popped up the sentiment with dimensionals. I finished off the card by layering it on Whisper White and a card base of Smoky Slate.
