Today I am getting ready to head to sunny Orlando, Florida for the awesome Stampin’ Up! Convention!! It is now referred to as OnStage and I am hoping I will have lots of new goodies to share with you while I am there!! Before I go, I wanted to share a quick and easy fall/masculine card with you. I used the Rooted in Nature stamp set and showcased many of the gorgeous green colors we have available.
I am calling this a masculine card, but really I think it could be given to anyone. I also don’t think it is only a fall card either! It could easily be made more fall looking by changing up the colors. The card base color is Mossy Meadow. I layered the this with some paper from the Wood Textures 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper pack. I then chose to stamp various leaves from the Rooted in Nature stamp set in the following colors: Mossy Meadow, Garden Green, Old Olive, Shaded Spruce and Granny Apple Green. When I saw how many beautiful green colors we have available I knew I wanted to show them off together! I cut out each leaf image with a circle that I though fit best from my Layering Circles Framelit Dies and some of my circle punches. I also cut a corresponding card stock color to the ink I used with the next biggest circles. I then layered them out in a group on the card. I added some Linen Thread twine behind all the circles and adhered them with dimensionals. The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and was punch out with the classic label punch. I also cut out a Meadow Layer using the classic label punch. I cut it in half so I could add a layer to each end of the point. This makes it look like it has a full layer!
That is all there is to this card! You could make this one really quick of you need a card in a hurry.
Please check back here soon for updates regarding some of the goodies I get to see at Onstage. I would recommend checking on my Facebook and Instagram pages for the most up to date information as I won’t always be able to post things to the blog.
I hope you are getting to enjoy fun with family and full bellies on this Thanksgiving Holiday! I am about to start cooking, but I wanted to take a moment to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving a share a pretty fall card with you.
I needed a fall themed birthday card and the Pick a Pumpkin stamp set is the perfect set to make any type of fall themed card. I also used the beautiful Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper. I added in the Wood Textures Designer Series paper and cut it out with a die from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits. The pumpkins and Leaves were stamped in Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Tangerine Tango, Lemon Lime Twist and Daffodil Delight. All of these colors are found in the Painted Autumn Designer Series paper. The pumpkins and leaves were cut out with the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits. I chose to use a Pear Pizzazz background rather than the Lemon Lime Twist color to soften the appearance of the card. The base of the card is Cajun Craze Card stock.
I hope you are having a fabulous time on this holiday and finding ways to be thankful for what you have.
I am taking a break from Halloween cards because a masculine birthday card is needed for one of my family members. I never seem to have enough of these so I should really make them more often. I wanted this one to look very Fallish since the individual’s birthday is right in the middle of Fall.
To make this card I started with a base of Dapper Denim cardstock. I layered that with a very thin layer of Soft Suede cardstock and stamped some of the Vintage Leaves with Versamark. Then I worked on the top layer of the card by stamping a random background on Tip Top Taupe cardstock. To do this I used mostly the Timeless Texture stamps, however I also pulled in one from the Ghoulish Grunge stamp set! The colors I used are Dapper Denim, Rich Razzleberry and Soft Suede inks. Once I had the background look I liked, I then used a sponge dauber to sponge in Crumb Cake across the whole card. I feel like this gives it an aged look. When I had all my stamping images I liked, I used versamark to stamp the leaves and ink splatters. Then I added Copper Embossing Powder to that and heat set it. I sure do love this Copper Embossing Powder! I decided to also emboss my sentiment and keep it a tone on tone look. Once I had the front all finished I layered the stamped paper with Rich Razzleberry and added Dapper Denim ribbon to finish it off. Once I had my idea it didn’t long to make this card so give it a try!
Don’t forget about the great sale still going on!

I hope you are enjoying this fall season. I have not yet made it to a pumpkin patch, but I hope to get there soon!
I have been quite busy these last few days as I drove 12 hours total round trip to spend time with my family in my hometown for a Thanksgiving gathering. We had to have our Thanksgiving meal a little early to meet all our schedules, so my husband and I drove back home today. We had a fantastic time and I feel blessed that I have such a fun loving family. I was able to get a card completed and sent before I left that is fall themed and I thought I would share it today. Unfortunately, it is a sympathy card, but given the time of year I thought it would be nice to be fall themed. Having to make a sympathy card so close to the holidays really does help put everything in perspective and made me even more thankful for the friends and family that I still have in my life.
This card was simple, but that background paper is so pretty I thought it should be the star of the card!
