Golden Graduate

I am still working on my Graduation cards. I can only do a little crafting at a time because I can’t sit for long these days after sustaining a back injury.  Thankfully I was able to get one more card done tonight. This one is for my cousin who graduated from college with a Visual Arts and Media degree so I think my camera theme fits perfect!

Her school colors are Navy and Gold so that is what I used. It is a pretty flashy card, but I think for a graduation that is okay! Lots of fun elements on this one including sequins, gold spritz spray and the fun polariod die cut out in gold foil paper.  In the inside I stamped a sentiment from the Pure Gumption stamp set that says, “The Tassel was Worth the Hassel” and stamped a graduation cap next to it.  I sure hope she likes it!

Supplies used:

  • Inks: Night of Navy and Gold spritz
  • Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge and Pure Gumption
  • Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White and Gold Foil paper
  • Tools: On Film Framelit dies and Corner Rounder
  • Embllishments:  The Congrats wood veneer is from My Paper Pumpkin kit I received in March. I colored it with a gold color ink I had and then added some sparkle! I also used random sequins from the Gold Sequins trim from Stampin’ Up.

National Scrapbooking Day!!

I had a rough week with my back pain and could not even think about crafting anything. BUT, I finally felt somewhat better today and thank goodness I did because it is National Scrapbooking Day!! There are so many giveaways and challenges out there I can barely keep up. I was going to try to do all sorts of challenges but I ended up only having the energy and tolerance to make two scrapbook pages. I honestly think that is not too bad considering how I felt. So here are the final pages:

I don’t really have the best lighting for taking pictures of my pages at night, but oh well. There is lots of copper gold in these two pages. I found this fantastic paper over at for a great price. It is by Pink Paislee and the pack is called Luxe.  Lots of beautfiul, striking metallic accent papers that are great for adding some zing to my wedding album.  I only have about 5-6 pages left and my wedding album will be complete….. only took me nearly two years!

Hope everyone is having a great National Scrapbooking Day!

CaCC March Cards Challenge – Digit-a-lize!

Happy Sunday everyone!

Sunday is always good day to get in a little creativity before the week starts, isn’t it?  Over at Catherine and Cathy Create they have a Digitalize challenge posted for their cards challenge. The guideline was to either use digits in your design or you could even use digital resources to make something. Ironically, I had an idea for this one right away! So I got to work and here is what I came up with:

I am a little torn on what to do with this one. I am really trying to pull together cards for Operation Write Home, but I think my dad would really like this for father’s day as well. Maybe I should just make two of them!

Anyway, this was a fun card to make because I got to use lots of different techniques and tools to make it.  The clock is a punch out I had already.  The # 1 Dad came from my Cricut. The fun gold backgrounds are part of the Clockworks and the Off the Grid sets from Stampin’ up. I used versamark to stamp them and then heated gold embossing powder to get the rich gold appearance.

Definitely a fun challenge to try out. Now I see they have a tags challenge too, so I will be thinking about what to do on that one next!
