Hello Crafty Friends,
I wanted to be sure and wish all the mother’s out there a super happy Mother’s day!! I hope all of the mothers, stepmothers and petmoms of the world are having a fabulous and relaxing day. You all work very hard and deserve a break!
In honor of this Mother’s day I am sharing the card I made for my mom! I couldn’t share it earlier because she keeps up with my blog and I wanted it to be a surprise!
The Apron of Love is the perfect set for mom’s but also for anyone who loves to cook, bake or grill! The stamp set comes with the cutest stamps to make the apron just right for people who love to create with food. It gets even cuter when you add in the matching Apron Builder Framlelits! The pretty paper I used is part of the Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP that will only be available for a few more weeks!
I hope you enjoyed the card and most of all I hope you are getting to be crafty today!
Hello Crafty Friends,
I hope you are having a wonderful Mother’s Day! I wish I could have spent the day with my mom, but she lives far from me so I couldn’t see her. I will get to see her sometime soon though! I have a pretty Mother’s Day card to share for you on this holiday.
This was made using that Oh So Succulent Stamp Set, The Succulent Framelit Dies and The Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper. Sadly, Paper has sold out. As of this writing it appears you can still get the Oh So Succulent Bundle that includes the Dies and The stamp set so if you love it, grab it while you can! The cardstock colors used for this card are Sweet Sugar Plum, Old Olive and Whisper White. I stamped the sentiment in Tip Top Taupe. I love that color, I am going to miss it!
I hope this card gives you some inspiration! It could easily be turned into a birthday card in a snap!
If you are a mother, I do hope you have been able to do something you love today!
Yesterday I shared a great gift idea for Mother’s Day, but of course I need a card to go with my gift! I tried something new with this card. Not sure if my term “shadow box” is the most accurate way to describe it, but I think it is pretty close.
A pretty, flowery card perfect for mom. You can see I have the top layer of paper raised up on dimensionals so I can have flowers peeking through underneath. There is a little trick to lining up the flowers on the base layer to peek through the top layer. What I did is first punched out the flowers where I wanted them on the top layer. Then I layed the top layer on the base layer and took a pencil to trace where the outline of the flower would go. That way I can tell exactly where I need to put the stamped flower on the base layer. I believe you could also just stamp on the base layer and then erase the tracing you did as long as you trace lightly. I am sure just a stamped image would look nice on the base layer too. I decided to add a small strip of designer paper and scalloped edge using my Scallop Edge Border Punch (retiring) to give the card more pizzazz. I then added punched out flowers on top randomly until I liked the appearance. I finished of by adding some Pistachio Pudding Thick Baker’s Twine (retiring) and the Best Mother Ever Sentiment from the And Many More stamp set. The sentiment is punched out with the Modern Label Punch (retiring) and the paper used is the Gold Soiree DSP (retiring).
Give this a try with your own punch shapes and see what kind of pretty creations you can come up with!
I am entering this card over at Just us Girls Blog this week as they have a pretty picture inspiration photo for their current challenge:
Those are some pretty flowers!!
Hope you have a springy, happy Sunday!
