Happy Sunday Crafty Friends!
I am back from spending a long weekend at a scrapbook retreat! Oh my goodness they are so fun. If you have never been to one, I highly recommend going! It was filled with laughs and relaxation, as well as getting lot of scrapbook pages done!
Now that I am back I thought I would share a little technique I came up with to help use up some of those supplies we have laying around. Who has tons of buttons and washi tape? Who doesn’t, right? Anyway this technique is another great way to get more use out of both those items.
Check out the video:
Think you will try it? Let me know if you do! I would love to hear how it turns out for you.
I am entering this card in the Challenge over at Sunday Stamps. This week the theme is Going Grey and my card is all about Grey!
Thanks for stopping by!!
*The Chevron washi tape used is not a Stampin’ Up product.
I got to spend a fair amount of time being crafty this weekend so I thought I would try one of the challenges. I am still trying to come up with more ideas for Easter cards so while that was brewing I decided to work on some birthday cards. I have a few special gentleman with birthdays in March. When I checked over at the Fusion Card Challenge blog I saw their inspiration photo and it did in fact inpsire me to make something that could be a good uni-sex card!
I decided to follow both their inspiration photo and their sketch. Here is their challenge info so you can see what I mean:
I love that picture. I could totally enjoy reading a book in that very spot! I also enjoyed trying to find patterned papers that would work well crossing over each other. That is pretty easy to do when you get Stampin’ Up DSP because all the papers in one pack coordinate! The patterned paper used here is from the Sweet Taffy DSP in the main catalog. I tried to mimic the hexagon pattern by using my Honeycomb embossing folder on the brown circle layer. The stamp is from the Fabulous Four stamp set and could easily be used for occasions beyond birthdays. I finished off the card with some cute candy dots placed randomly. Well, semi-randomly, one is covering an “oops” with an ink spot. 🙂
I am entering this card over at the Fusion Card Challenge Blog just in the nick of time!
Have a great week!!
As usual there is LOTS to report on Tuesday as that is when the demonstrators get most of the exciting updates from Stampin’ Up!
First, I want to start by sharing a card with you. I have found that I rarely have a Get Well card on hand when I need it. Given that is the case, I decided to get the Fabulous Four stamp set because it has this cute stamp that is great for sending well wishes. I decided I will start making a few Get Well cards to have on hand and here is my first one:
There are lots of fun elements in this card! First, I decided to use the beautiful Gold Soiree paper. It is truly versatile for many occasions with just a little glam to pump things up a notch. I also used one of the cute stars from the Basic HodgePodge clips. I am so glad I bought these because I can see I will like using them both in card making and in scrapbooking! I got some inspiration for this card over at the SUO challenge blog. Their theme is Dots this week and this paper has some adorable dots!
Now on to the awesome updates. Stampin’ UP! is offering another fun Photopolymer stamp set. You have already seen how much I love the Snuggles and Smooches stamp set so I anticipate getting this new one as well:
This is the Better Than E-Mail stamp set and it is a great new option for the Angel Policy! If you are someone who makes Stampin’ Up Cards to sell, then this will be a great addition to your supplies. It retails for $15.95 and is not available in any catalog. If you are interested in buying this set just click on the picture or contact me to order it!
Last, but not least, is the weekly deals. Here they are:
