Stampin’ Up! Sparkling Valentine with the Sweet & Sassy Framelits

Hi Crafty Friends!

February is here which means love is in the air!  Are you busy thinking about those you love? I am, which prompted me to come up with a simple Valentine’s Day card.

I wanted to see if I could come up with a Valentine using many of products I already had on hand.  I should mention there is one lovely new item on this card, and that is the Simple Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  You can’t go wrong with stripes, right?  The bigger heart was made using Cherry Cobbler and Powder Pink ink and my Aqua painter.  I continued with the stripped theme using light strokes on watercolor paper. Once I had a look that I liked I cut it out with a heart from the Sweet and Sassy Framelits.  To make the other heart I started with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and colored it in with my Cherry Cobbler Blends marker.  I must be sure to note that you have to be VERY careful if you choose to try this.  The glimmer paper is very coarse and the blends marker tip is easily frayed on a surface of this nature.  I found that if I made very light strokes in one direction it seemed to work fine without damaging the tip of the marker.  I was very happy with the result because it is a different color than a true red glitter paper. The heart I used to cut out the Glimmer Paper is part of the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.  For the sentiment I used the love, also from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits; and the You from the Celebrate You Thinlits set.  This is a Sale-A-Bration item you can get when you spend $100.00.  I guess that is one other new item I used after all!  I did add some Clear Wink of Stella over the top of the YOU so it would pop a little better. To finish things off I added Glitter Enamel Dots in the lighter Berry Burst color.  The card stock used is Powder Pink, Whisper White and Sahara Sand.

Did this give you some inspiration to get to work on your Valentine cards?  I hope so!

Valentine goody bags, a new stamp set and the weekly deals!

Are you tired of my valentine projects yet?  I hope not because I have just one more!

Everyone loves to get a little something in the mail, right?  Well I have a few special folks that I decided needed some yummy treats for valentines day so I made these cute little bags for them.

I sure hope they like them and they really take no time at all to make!

There are lots of fun touches on these bags, including the new Calypso Coral Pom Pom Trim and glitzy Gold Sequins Trim. I also took the basic mini clothes pins and stamped little hearts on them to make them valentiney (that’s a word, right?).  🙂  I used lots of different sets to make these bags so it was fun to try all the different designs to see what I could come up with. You should give it a try. Get creative and stamp on fabric, because it really works!

There are a couple of other fun things to post about today including yet another new Photopolymer stamp set Stampin’ UP is offering:

Sweet Stampin’ Up Valentine and the current Weekly Deals

Hey what day is it?  HA HA, I know you said hump day!

I hope your week is going smoothly. Since I am a day late in getting this post up I can say mine has been just a tad bumpy.  Hopefully as I sail downhill to the weekend, that will all change!

I have another cute valentine card to share today.  This one is made with the You plus Me stamp set and the Groovy Love stamp set. Both are perfect for valentines day!

Lots of cute stuff in this card and it was not to challenging to make!  The patterned heart paper is part of the Stacked with Love DSP. The little heart punched out in the bottom right corner also has paper from this stack peeking out behind it.  The tiny love and the polka dot heart are both from the Groovy Love stamp set.  One of my favorite elements to this card is the burlap. Burlap and red always looks so nice together!

I found a few blog challenges out there that fit perfect with my valentine theme so I am entering this over at SUO blog for their current Valentine Wishes challenge and over at Just Us Girls for their Photo Week Challenge # 277.

I am a day late in getting these posted, but here are the Weekly Deals

Versatile Valentine

Woohoo, the weekend is here!

I have happily been able to enjoy some crafting time this weekend and I was in the mood for LOVE. Valentines seemed to be on my mind, so I decided to pull out my red and pink paper and see what I could come up with.  I did make a few Valentines so I will be sure to share these with you over the next few days.

This first one is really just a one layer card with a few extra paper strips and some ribbon:  d67bf731-e8a7-42ad-b3da-4c3df0a6ca78_zpsjes9jkld

As you can probably see, I have yet again used the Snuggles and Smooches Stamp set! I sure do love that set! I think this valentine could easily be used for your special someone or maybe even your niece, nephew, child or anyone you love to snuggle with! The tiny strips of paper are from the Stacked with Love DSP. That paper pack sure has come in handy for my valentine cards! I punched out the Snuggles and Smooches stamp with my 2 inch paper punch and then did some quick heart punches. The adorable embossed part of the card is from the new Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing folder.

I got most of my inspiration for this card over at Freshly Made Sketches. Here is their sketch for this week:FMS Final 170-001 I am entering my card in the challenge for FMS170!

This was a fun card to make and really took no time at all.  I will share a few more valentines over the next few days so be sure to check back for some creativity inspiration!

Fun valentine card with Stampin’ Up! You Plus Me stamp set

Happy Sunday Crafty Folks!

I have been playing with all the new Catalog goodies I received and I seem to be in the mood for Valentines day!  I decided to try another one with one of the fun new sets available – You Plus Me. This coordinates beautifully with the new Stacked with Love DSP.

f56a106f-e92e-4073-a466-7c60344757f9_zps154d99bdI am loving this new DSP! Sometimes I get a paper pack and I don’t like all the papers, but that is not this case for this pack! There is definitely a valentine/love theme in the paper but many of the patterns could be used in lots of other ways and I love that. This stamp set is really fun too!I can see me using the ampersand quite frequently and there are lots of occasions to use the various hearts in card making and scrapbooking. A few things to point out on this card and the cute little embellishments. It is hard to see in this picture, but I used one of the new Itty Bitty Accent Epoxy stickers on the tiny heart in the You and Me stamp.  It adds just a little bit of dimension. Also I used a wire heart from the Basic Hodgepodge Clips available in Annual Catalog. The cute white bow is made of the New Cotton twine available in the occasions catalog. It is so SOFT! I can’t wait to use it in more of my projects.

Hope you enjoy my little valentine. Have you started working on any valentines yet?  🙂
